Diving Canada offers the following NCCP workshops.
Competition-Introduction : This course typically runs over two consecutive weekends, and is tailored for coaches that already work with regional or provincial athletes. While introducing seasonal planning, the use of the trampoline belt, practice planning and the development of long-term objectives, this workshop will ultimately help coaches improve the overall competitive diving skills of their athletes.
Competition-Development: Designed for coaches of athletes at the provincial, national, and junior international levels (girls aged 8-12, boys aged 9-13), this workshop focuses on fine-tuning seasonal plans, and understanding and applying biomechanical principles. Over the course of two 3-day weekend sessions, coaches will learn to plan and analyze performance, to develop athletic abilities, and to manage a competitive diving program. Coaches will also learn about injury prevention and recovery for competitive divers. Both weekends will have classroom and pool sessions.
Instruction-Beginners : This clinic is for anyone interested in becoming a “learn to dive” instructor. Coaches will learn basic diving skills, safety principles for participants with no diving experience, as well as be able to teach basic skill sets in a fun and interactive way to their young athletes after taking this weekend workshop. No diving experience required.
