The PGA of Canada, in cooperation with Golf Canada, offers the following NCCP workshops.
Community Golf Coach: This workshop has been designed for the community golf coach who is, or would like to, work with children or youth and is introducing the basic skills of golf. The overall goal of this workshop is to help prepare coaches to be competent in the skills required by a community coach. This 2-day workshop, which includes a half day of outdoor activities, is a great opportunity for coaches to reflect on their current understandings of children, junior golf, and the environments children want to participate in.
Golf Coach – New Competitors: This three-day workshop is designed for coaches and/or instructors wishing to work with new competitors and will focus on the differences between instructing and coaching. Seasonal training plans will be introduced as will the unique characteristics and requirements of youth in the 10-18 years of age bracket.
Golf Coach – Developing Competitors: Coaches working with athletes from the ages of 16-22 will learn the fundamental issues of developing a total athlete through this six-day, in-class and on the field of play workshop.
Instructor – Beginner Golfers: Looking to become a professional instructor, rather than a volunteer coach? Then this workshop is for you! Over the course of three days, coaches will cover lesson planning, learning principles and be introduced to analyzing performance.
Instructor – Intermediate Golfers: Become a more rounded instructor, and learn the skills of a responsible and developed leader through this three-day workshop. Teaching and learning principles, and how to begin developing program plans will be covered.
