We are pleased to announce that Cyndie Flett, our Vice-President of Research and Development, has been named to the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity’s (CAAWS) Most Influential Women List for 2013.
Each year, CAAWS publishes the Most Influential Women List to highlight the women who have influenced sport and physical activity in Canada and on the international scene.
“I am honoured to have been named to the Most Influential Women List,” said Flett. “To be in the company of the women named to the list this year, and years past, is very special.”
In 2013, Flett was the visionary behind the CAC’s precedent-setting “Making Head Way” concussion eLearning modules. Under the umbrella of the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Active and Safe Initiative, Flett created an opportunity for brain injury experts to collaborate with coach educators and leaders in instructional design to develop a user-friendly coach education module that addressed concussion awareness, return to play protocols, and brain injury prevention. Flett established the vision and mission for the Making Head Way program centred on maximizing eLearning technology, and capably managed the implementation of the course material into a new electronic format. The “Making Head Way in Sport” eLearning module received an Honourable Mention from the International E-Learning Association in 2013.
