Our partners in sport

The CAC is a partner-driven organization that relies on the strength of its relationships to achieve its mission. The coach and sport leader development and education system in Canada is the result of the work of highly committed individuals from many different organizations who strive for coaching excellence from playground to podium.

The CAC Partner network includes:

  • The Government of Canada
  • National Sport Organizations (NSOs)
  • National Multi-Sport Service Organizations
  • Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institutes
  • Canadian Sport Centres and Institutes (CSCs/CSIs)

The CAC was established in 1970 as a result of recommendations of the Task Force on Sport for Canadians. In 1974, it launched the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP); more than 1.8 million coaches have participated in the program since its inception. Each year, more than 60,000 coaches take an NCCP workshop.
