The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC)’s Women in Coaching program is pleased to announce that its National Coach Workshop will take place March 28-30, 2014 at the Lord Elgin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario.
The aim of the National Coach Workshop is to bring together women coaches in Canada to facilitate a stronger network of women coaches in national coaching positions, experience professional development tailored to women coaches, and, create support mechanisms focused on sustaining women in national level positions.
The workshop will be facilitated by Carla Nicholls, the National Event Group Coach for Athletics Canada, and will include presentations by numerous influential women leaders in sport and coaching in Canada.
Nomination Procedure:
To attend the National Coach Workshop, coaches must be nominated by their national sport organization (NSO) and should represent the following (or similar) coaching positions:
• Head coaches and assistant coaches preparing for the 2016 and 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Games
• Senior national team/CIS or CCAA head or assistant coaches
• Junior national team head or assistant coaches
• National coaching pool
• Head coaches and assistant coaches preparing for the 2015 and 2017 Special Olympics World Games
Please note that space is limited.
Coaches selected will have the opportunity to shape this year’s agenda by completing a needs assessment outlining the areas of interest for their own professional development. CAC will cover the cost of hotel and meals. NSOs will be responsible for a $150 registration fee and the cost of travel.
