The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is pleased to announce that Benoît Huot, one of Canada’s most decorated Paralympic athletes, and Robyn Webster, a pole vault athlete and youth development coach, are joining the 2017 Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference (#SLS17) as conference emcees.

The Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference is Canada’s conference for coaches, researchers, sport executives, and administrators. The event gathers 500+ delegates for three days of learning, professional development, and networking with the top minds and leaders of the Canadian sport, business, and education communities.

An accomplished pole vaulter for many years with the University of Calgary, Robyn continues to train and compete herself, as well as coach up and coming athletes. After coaching at the 2017 Canada Games as part of the Women in Coaching Canada Games Apprenticeship Program, she is looking forward to the experience. "I attended the conference for the first time last year as part of the CAC’s Women in Coaching program and I am honoured to have been asked to emcee this year's conference. I look forward to another year of inspiring speakers and insightful sessions."

For his part, this will be Benoît Huot’s second time participating at the conference, having co-emceed the 2014 edition. A five-time Paralympian, winning 20 medals in the process, Benoît has also created his own foundation, which aims to help young athletes to one day participate in the Paralympic Games themselves. “I am especially looking forward for the professional development and networking opportunities with many of the top Canadian sport leaders. One of my favourite part of the weekend is the Petro-Canada Sport Leadership Award Gala, where our best coaches are recognized and celebrated. I will embrace the opportunity and enjoy every minute of it.”

#SLS17 takes place in Calgary and runs from November 2-4 at the Westin Calgary. Registration for the CAC’s annual conference closes October 19th. Interested in attending? Our list of 10 reasons to attend summarizes nicely what you can expect Calgary.
