Ottawa, ON — May 12, 2025 — The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is proud to release its 2025–26 Annual Plan, “Growth, Adversity, Resilience,” outlining strategic initiatives to empower coaches and support partners across Canada’s sport system during uncertain times.

“With this plan, we’re moving forward with purpose—investing in people, platforms, and partnerships to build a stronger, more inclusive sport system,” said Lorraine Lafrenière, Chief Executive Officer of the CAC. “Our focus is on progress, innovation, and meaningful impact for coaches and communities.”

The plan was developed with input from our partners and staff and is guided by our board of directors, taking care to reflect the current reality and needs of Canada’s sport system and our organization’s position within it.

Key highlights of the 2025–26 Annual Plan include:

  • Major enhancements to The Locker platform to improve accessibility and data integration
  • Supporting the sustainability of national sport programs through creative solutions to support the development and delivery of the NCCP
  • Continued focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives and expanded support for women in coaching
  • Ongoing leadership in international coaching development
  • Community and partner engagement through events like Partners Congress, National Coaches Week, and digital storytelling initiatives

We have identified four strategic imperatives and 13 related goals to sustain our mission of enhancing the experiences of all athletes and participants in Canada through quality coaching.
