OTTAWA (April 24, 2018) – The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is pleased to announce the host locations for both its 2019 and 2020 Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conferences.
The Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference is Canada’s conference for coaches, researchers, sport executives, and administrators. It consists of three days of learning, professional development, and networking with the top minds and leaders of the Canadian sport, business, and education communities.
Returning to Richmond
Richmond, B.C. will return as host for the 2019 conference. A natural location, Richmond marked the scene of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and last hosted the annual conference in 2016.
“The Coaching Association of Canada is looking forward to partnering again with Richmond Sport Hosting and the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel to host the 2019 Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference,” says Lorraine Lafrenière, CEO of the CAC. “Richmond has established itself as a premier sport event destination with world-class facilities, valued partners, and an active sports community. Our partnership ensures we can continue to expand and elevate our delegates’ conference experience”
The 2019 Conference will take place at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel from Nov. 7-9, 2019.
“We are extremely excited to welcome the CAC and the Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference in 2019,” says Jordan Mottl, Acting Manager for Richmond Sport Hosting. “Richmond is home to a rich sporting community that celebrates the work of coaches and their positive impact on athletes. We are looking forward to extending a warm welcome to Canada’s coaches and sport professionals.”
Québec City set to host in 2020
When it comes to history, culture and sport, Québec City is a central character in Canada’s story.
Hosted at the popular Fairmont Le Château Frontenac within the UNESCO World Heritage treasure of Old Québec, the 2020 Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference will take place from Nov. 5-7, 2020.
“As one of Canada’s oldest cities, Québec City’s 400-year-old story defines hard work and prosperity, which remains a vibrant part of our culture to this day, including sport,” says Lafrenière. “The CAC is excited to bring the 2020 Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference to Québec City and the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac for a unique and innovative conference experience for all delegates.”
The event is one in which the Québec City Business Destination can’t wait to host:
‘‘Québec City is proud to welcome the Coaching Association of Canada for their 2020 conference. It is an honour to host sport events in our beautiful city and their delegates from around the world. Our city’s rich heritage and state-of-the-art installations are the perfect backdrop to host the CAC’s delegates,” states Pierre-Michel Bouchard, President of Québec City Business Destination.
The annual conference, attended by 500+ delegates, would not be possible without the CAC’s partnership with Petro-Canada.
“Petro-Canada is thrilled to be the title sponsor of the Sport Leadership sportif Conference,” said Deborah Gullaher, vice president sales & marketing, Suncor. “We believe that the opportunity that this conference provides for delegates to learn, network and celebrate strengthens our sport system across the country. We look forward to recognizing our Canadian coaches in these beautiful cities.”
