Performance Shift: Cultivating Disruption

OTTAWA (June 12, 2017) – The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is pleased to announce that registration for the 2017 Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference is now open. This year’s edition will take place in Calgary, AB, from November 2-4 at the Westin Calgary.

The Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference (#SLS17) is Canada’s conference for coaches, researchers, sport executives, and administrators. Organized by the CAC, the annual conference consists of three days of learning, professional development, and networking with the top minds and leaders of the Canadian sport, business, and education communities.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN AT www.coach.ca/sportleadership!

At #SLS17, Canada’s sport leaders are invited to cultivate disruptive innovation. Delegates will explore how the Canadian sport community can shift performances to grow and retain its leadership position in providing impactful programs to all Canadians. Each speaker and session will challenge delegates to identify, shape, and shift the culture of disruption in sport amidst the demands of technological, entrepreneurial, and social change.

“The only constant is change and disruption is a key driver in successful business, sport is no exception,” says Lorraine Lafrenière, Chief Executive Officer of the CAC. “At SLS17, delegates will be challenged to create opportunities through innovation in order to grow the Canadian sport system. We look forward to hosting a successful conference, along with our partners Alberta Sport Connection and the Calgary Sport Tourism Authority.”

Confirmed speakers include disruptive innovation and organizational change expert, Jim Harris, Anne Tiivas, head of the Child Protection in Sport Unit, and the founder of Train Ugly, Trevor Regan. Canada’s top coaches will also be celebrated during the conference at the always popular Petro-Canada Sport Leadership Awards Gala. The CAC and the PGA of Canada have also partnered to present Tee Talks Live, a professional development opportunity for their members in conjunction with #SLS17, and is offering a discount to its members interested in attending both conferences. The annual conference will play host to the TeamSnap Community Coaches Day, where 150 local coaches will take part in National Coaching Certification Program workshops.
