FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ottawa, ON (May 28, 2014) -- The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alain Roy as our new Director of Education Partnerships, effective June 25, 2014. Alain joins the CAC as a 15-year-veteran of the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) where he has fulfilled the role of Director General since 2009.
“We are very pleased to welcome Alain to the CAC,” said Lorraine Lafrenière, Chief Executive Officer of the Coaching Association of Canada. “He brings tremendous experience as an effective facilitator of collective partnerships from his previous roles within the Quebec school sport system over the last 15 years. His proven leadership skills and ability to garner support within a complex system will assist in creating innovative and successful coach development programs in collaboration with all of Canada’s coach education partners.”
An effective leader and skilled manager, Alain has been successfully achieving results in delivering sport and education programs from elementary to college and university levels. As Director General of the RSEQ, Alain supported the provision of interscholastic activities and services for more than 185,000 student-athletes participating in 40 sport disciplines in primary, secondary, and post-secondary institutions across the province. His work leading the organization’s recent brand review resulted in the successful transformation of the organization with its creation of a common vision for their network of partners. In his new role at the CAC, Alain will play an important role in fostering collaborative relationships with all NCCP stakeholders.
“I am very happy to accept this mandate with the CAC and it will be a privilege to contribute to the success of the mission of the organization,” said Roy. “The convictions and the values of the CAC correspond exactly to my personal values. This new role will allow me to continue to promote sport as a powerful tool which shapes the global development of our citizens of tomorrow.”
