A Report on the 5th IWG World Conference on Women and Sport
Every four years, the International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) organizes an international conference. The fifth conference was held in May 2010 in Sydney, Australia. This article contains a summary of the major themes discussed during those four days and will give readers an understanding of what is going on around the world in women and sport issues. It was interesting to note that the participants from 58 countries share many concerns and problems. Even if some progress has been made, it is obvious that much is needed in all parts of the world. The good news is that many best practices were shared.
