NCCP Policy Compendium

A handbook for NCCP Partners to use as they participate in and contribute to the NCCP. Partners comprise the Provincial/Territorial governments and/or their Delivery Agencies, National Sport Organizations, Sport Canada, and the Coaching Association of Canada.

The goal of the CAC EDI Grant Program, powered by MONDO, is to support projects that increase the diversity of coaches in Canada and contribute to creating inclusive and accessible sport environments. Grant recipients will receive up to $1,500 to support their project and must contribute a minimum of $500 to the project.

The CAC and the University of Ottawa have collaborated to prepare a model that provides sport organizations with a step-by-step approach to plan, train, design, implement, assess and maintain a Community of Practice focused on supporting long-term change.

Using Communities of Practice (CoPs) to Enhance eLearning Coach Education

Our External Partnerships Program focuses on establishing meaningful partnerships to impact coach knowledge and behaviour. It provides more variety of Professional Development (PD) opportunities for coaches to develop their coach toolbox. Organizations that are part of our External Partnerships Program can recognize their events and courses for Non-NCCP Professional Development (PD) points.

Maintenance of Certification is the NCCP policy that requires NCCP coaches to maintain their certification through Professional Development and training opportunities over a predetermined period.

The Canada Games Council (CGC), the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), and the Provincial/Territorial Coaching Representatives (P/TCR) strongly believe that coaching apprenticeship programs are an essential part of the development of a coach.

The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) developed the High Performance Women in Coaching Mentorship Program in 2020 with the support of Sport Canada and in response to the federal government priority of gender equity in sport by 2035.
