Win Together This National Coaches Week – Contest

Official Contest Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

Two prize packages are available. Each prize package has an approximate retail value of $250 CAD and consists of a $100 CAD digital gift card for the selected entrant and a $150 CAD digital gift card for the coach celebrated in their entry. The total approximate retail value of all prizes is $500 CAD.

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

By entering the Win Together This National Coaches Week Contest, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest.

1. Sponsor

The Win Together This National Coaches Week Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by:

Coaching Association of Canada
c/o House of Sport
2451 Riverside Drive
Ottawa, Ontario K1H 7X7
Canada

The Coaching Association of Canada is referred to in these Official Contest Rules as the “Sponsor” or “CAC.”

Questions about the Contest may be directed to communications@coach.ca.

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins on September 14, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on September 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”).

The Sponsor’s designated systems and records will be the official timekeeping devices for the Contest.

3. Eligibility

The Contest is open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry.

Employees, officers, directors, representatives, agents and contractors of the Sponsor, as well as members of their immediate families and persons living in the same household, whether related or not, are not eligible to enter. For the purposes of these Official Contest Rules, “immediate family” includes a spouse, parent, sibling, child and the spouse of any such person.

The coach celebrated in an entry:

  • must be a different person from the entrant;
  • must be a legal resident of Canada;
  • must be living at the time the entry is submitted;
  • must be eligible and able to accept the coach portion of the prize; and
  • must consent to being identified in the entry and, if selected, to the Sponsor contacting them and administering the prize.

A coach who has not reached the age of majority may be celebrated in an entry. If that coach is selected to receive a prize, their parent or legal guardian must provide any required consent, complete the required documents and accept the prize on the coach’s behalf.

The Sponsor reserves the right to request proof of identity, age, residency, eligibility and permission to feature the coach or any other person appearing in an entry. Failure to provide satisfactory proof within the timeframe requested by the Sponsor may result in disqualification.

4. How to Enter

No purchase is necessary to enter.

During the Contest Period, an eligible entrant must:

  1. Publish a photo, video or written message celebrating a coach on one of the following eligible social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and/or X.
  2. Explain why they are saying “Thanks Coach” or how the coach has made a positive difference in their life, sport or community.
  3. Include both #ThanksCoach and #CoachesWeek in the post.
  4. Tag the applicable official Coaching Association of Canada account: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X.
  5. Ensure that the post and associated social media account are public and viewable by the Sponsor.

An entry must be published during the Contest Period and remain publicly accessible until at least 11:59 PM EST on September 30, 2026.

The entrant must follow all instructions provided by the applicable social media platform. Creating a social media account is free, but entrants are responsible for any standard internet or mobile data charges incurred when entering.

An entry will be considered received only when it can be viewed and verified by the Sponsor. Posts from private accounts, expired stories, direct messages and posts that do not include the required hashtags and CAC tag will not be eligible.

Proof that an entrant published or attempted to publish a post does not constitute proof that the Sponsor received the entry.

5. Entry Requirements

Each entry must:

  • be original to the entrant or used with all necessary permissions;
  • truthfully celebrate a coach;
  • be appropriate for a general audience;
  • comply with these Official Contest Rules and the rules of the applicable social media platform;
  • not contain false, misleading, defamatory, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, obscene or otherwise inappropriate content;
  • not promote unsafe coaching practices, violence, illegal activity, harassment or discrimination;
  • not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, personality or other rights;
  • not prominently feature third-party brands, logos or commercial messages unless permission has been obtained; and
  • not include personal or confidential information that the entrant does not have permission to share.

The entrant must have permission from the coach and every other identifiable person featured, named, photographed, recorded or tagged in the entry. If an identifiable person appearing in the entry is under the age of majority, the entrant must have permission from that person’s parent or legal guardian.

The entrant must be able to provide evidence of these permissions if requested by the Sponsor.

The Sponsor may disqualify any entry that it determines, in its sole and reasonable discretion, does not comply with these requirements or could negatively affect the Sponsor, National Coaches Week, a featured coach or another person.

6. Entry Licence

Entrants retain ownership of their entries.

By entering, each entrant grants the Sponsor a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to reproduce, share, repost, publish, translate, adapt for accessibility or formatting purposes, and otherwise use the entry in connection with:

  • administering and promoting the Contest;
  • celebrating National Coaches Week;
  • recognizing the featured coach; and
  • the Sponsor’s related non-commercial communications and reporting.

This permission applies to the Sponsor’s websites, reports, newsletters and social media channels, without further notice, approval or compensation, unless prohibited by law.

The Sponsor will not be required to use or publish any entry. Where practical, the Sponsor will credit the entrant or the social media account from which the entry was submitted.

7. Prizes

There are two prize packages available. Each prize package consists of:

  • one $100 CAD digital gift card of choice from giftcards.ca for the selected entrant; and
  • one $150 CAD digital gift card of choice from giftcards.ca for the coach celebrated in the selected entry.

The approximate retail value of each prize package is $250 CAD. The total approximate retail value of all prizes is $500 CAD.

The digital gift cards are subject to the issuer’s terms, conditions and restrictions.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded. They may not be sold, transferred, assigned, exchanged for cash or substituted at the winner’s request.

The Sponsor reserves the right, for any reason and at its discretion, to substitute a prize or prize component with another prize of equal or greater value.

The selected entrant and their featured coach must both satisfy the applicable eligibility, verification and prize-acceptance requirements. If either person is ineligible, cannot be contacted, declines the prize or does not complete the required steps within the specified timeframe, the entire prize package may be forfeited and an alternate entrant may be selected.

The Sponsor is not responsible for a lost, stolen, damaged, misdirected or undeliverable digital gift card after it has been sent to the verified email address provided by the recipient.

8. Random Draw and Odds

On or about September 21, 2026 at approximately 2:00 PM ET in Ottawa, Ontario, the Sponsor or its designated representative will conduct a random draw from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

Two potential winners will be selected.

The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

The Sponsor may draw additional entries and hold them in reserve in case a potential winner does not satisfy the requirements of these Official Contest Rules.

9. Potential-Winner Notification and Confirmation

The Sponsor will attempt to contact each potential winner through the social media account used to enter and/or through another available contact method.

A potential winner must respond within five business days after the Sponsor’s first contact attempt. The potential winner may be required to provide their full name, province or territory of residence, email address, telephone number and any other information reasonably required to confirm eligibility and administer the prize.

Before being declared a winner, each potential winner must:

  1. correctly answer, without assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by the Sponsor;
  2. confirm compliance with these Official Contest Rules;
  3. provide the Sponsor with contact information for the coach featured in the entry; and
  4. provide any other documentation reasonably required to confirm eligibility or the necessary permissions.

The coach must also confirm their identity and eligibility, accept the applicable prize component, and complete any consent or release required by the Sponsor. If the coach is under the age of majority, these requirements must be completed by their parent or legal guardian.

If a potential winner:

  • cannot be contacted within five business days;
  • does not respond within the required timeframe;
  • does not correctly answer the skill-testing question;
  • does not provide the requested documents or information;
  • cannot obtain the featured coach’s participation and consent;
  • is found to be ineligible;
  • has not complied with these Official Contest Rules; or
  • declines the prize,

the potential winner will be disqualified and the prize package may be awarded to an alternate entrant selected by random draw from the remaining eligible entries.

The Sponsor is not responsible for failed, filtered, hidden or misdirected social media messages or emails.

10. Winner Publicity

Unless prohibited by law, each confirmed winner and prize-receiving coach agrees that the Sponsor may announce and use their name, city and province or territory of residence, social media username, entry, photograph, image, voice and statements about the Contest for Contest administration, National Coaches Week communications and winner announcements without further notice or compensation.

Any use involving a minor coach will be subject to the consent of their parent or legal guardian.

11. Privacy

The Sponsor will collect, use and disclose personal information provided in connection with the Contest for the purposes of:

  • administering the Contest;
  • verifying eligibility;
  • contacting and confirming potential winners and coaches;
  • delivering prizes;
  • responding to questions or disputes;
  • meeting legal, regulatory, audit and reporting requirements; and
  • publicizing the confirmed winners as described in these Official Contest Rules.

The Sponsor will not use personal information collected solely through the Contest to send unrelated marketing communications unless the individual separately provides consent.

Personal information may be shared with the Sponsor’s employees, service providers, gift-card providers and professional advisers where reasonably necessary to administer the Contest or comply with legal obligations.

Personal information will be managed in accordance with applicable privacy laws and the Sponsor’s privacy policy, available at https://coach.ca/privacy-policy.

Questions about the Sponsor’s privacy practices may be directed to communications@coach.ca.

Information posted publicly on a social media platform is also subject to that platform’s privacy policy and terms.

12. Releases and Limitation of Liability

By entering, each entrant releases and holds harmless the Sponsor, the eligible social media platforms, and each of their respective employees, officers, directors, representatives, agents and contractors from claims arising from:

  • participation in the Contest;
  • acceptance, use or misuse of a prize;
  • the entrant’s failure to obtain required permissions;
  • the Sponsor’s authorized use of an entry; or
  • technical, platform, network, computer or communications failures affecting an entry or notification,

except where such a release is prohibited by law.

Nothing in these Official Contest Rules is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

13. Social Media Platforms

The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or X.

By entering, each entrant completely releases the applicable social media platforms from responsibility for the Contest, except where prohibited by law.

Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to the Sponsor and not to a social media platform.

Entrants must comply with the terms and community standards of the platform used to enter. The use of an invalid, inaccurate or unauthorized tag may result in disqualification.

14. General Conditions

The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any person who:

  • tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or operation of the Contest;
  • uses automated, fraudulent or deceptive entry methods;
  • submits an entry using multiple identities or accounts;
  • interferes with another person’s participation;
  • violates these Official Contest Rules; or
  • acts in an abusive, disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner.

If the Contest cannot be conducted as planned because of technical failure, platform disruption, fraud, unauthorized intervention, error or another cause beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control, the Sponsor may, subject to applicable law, cancel, suspend, extend or modify the Contest. If practical, the Sponsor may select the winners by random draw from among eligible entries received before the action was taken.

The Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, deleted, inaccessible, misdirected or technically corrupted entries, or for failures of any website, social media platform, network, device or communications system.

Any attempt to deliberately damage a website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may violate civil or criminal law. The Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.

If any provision of these Official Contest Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

In the event of a discrepancy between these Official Contest Rules and other Contest materials, these Official Contest Rules will govern, subject to applicable law.

15. Governing Law

The Contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial and territorial laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.

Except where the laws of an entrant’s province or territory require otherwise, the Contest and these Official Contest Rules are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario.

16. Language

The English and French versions of these Official Contest Rules are intended to have equal meaning and effect.

If there is a discrepancy between the versions, the version that best preserves the purpose and consumer protections of these Official Contest Rules will apply, subject to applicable law.

17. Winners

Following confirmation, the names of the winners may be announced on the Sponsor’s website and social media channels.

To request the winners’ names after September 21, 2026, contact communications@coach.ca no later than October 8, 2026.
