Type: In-Class Workshop
Duration: 4 hours

This module will introduce you to the fundamentals of football with a recreational focus. Taking this workshop will give you skills and confidence in the following key areas:

  1. Practice Planning
  2. How to Make Ethical Decisions (MED)
  3. Fundamental technical football skills

The workshop is taught both in class and in gym/on field. It will take approximately 4 hours (if online materials are completed beforehand) or 8 hours (if online materials are not completed).

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS WORKSHOP?

The skills you will learn are ideal for voluntary coaches who have children who participate in football, or who wish to assist participants of all ages who are new to the sport.

The workshop is aimed at coaches working with youths, between 6-12 years of age, where fun, fitness, and participation are key.

PREREQUISITES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Anyone who coaches contact football at any level must also attend the following:

  1. The NCCP Safe Contact workshop
  2. Make Ethical Decisions (MED) Online Evaluation – Community - Sport
