Coaching Association of Canada
Stream(s):
  • I NCCP NCCP Instruction
Type: In-Class Workshop
Duration: 36 hours

Instructors in the Instructor Beginner context are usually working with participants who are experiencing the sport for the first time through a series of lessons, there is no formalized competition at this level – it is strictly about skill development and there is a short timeframe of interaction between the instructor and the participant. (36-hour workshop)

Participants will cover basic teaching methods, risk management, how to analyze technical performance, technical coaching skills (group and individual lessons), provide feedback, and how to make ethical decisions. Participants must already be at the CFF yellow and orange armband level in their particular discipline (foil, sabre, epee) to enroll in this course, or must demonstrate their competency at this level.

Note: It is highly recommended that coaches complete the CFF community level workshop prior to registering to the CFF Competition-instructeur workshop.
