Overview

Overview

During this workshop you will explore topics to enhance your knowledge, skills, and confidence of the mental triad: mental health, mental illness, and mental performance. You will also gain insights into your role as a coach in promoting mental health and mental performance, as well as assisting athletes in managing and preventing symptoms of mental illness.

After completing the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Define mental health literacy
  • Describe the mental triad and understand the interplay
  • Define stigma in sport
  • Recognize mental triad signs and symptoms
  • Respond to challenges through powerful conversations
  • Refer to appropriate practitioners

The workshop will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. Coaches who are maintaining their NCCP Certification will earn 2 PD points for completing the workshop.

This workshop is Workshop 1 in the Powering Coach Mental Health Literacy trilogy. You have the option of completing 1, 2, or all 3 modules. Although it’s ideal to complete the modules in sequence, you may choose a different order that’s more suitable to your needs and preferences.

You can access Workshop 2: Powering Coach Wellness and Performance through Self-Care and Workshop 3: Promoting the Power of Mental Health through Coaching Practice on the Event Hub.

These workshops are available for FREE until March 31, 2024
