Overview

During this workshop, you will focus on integrating mental health in your coaching philosophy and practice, including strategies to create psychologically healthy and safe sport environments. You will learn to create supportive mental health plans that address vulnerable periods in your seasonal or yearly training plans.

After completing the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Define mental health literacy and mental health promotion
  • Identify tactics and behaviours to promote mental health
  • Recognize the components of a sound mental health plan
  • Consider mental health needs when designing sport programs

The workshop will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. Coaches who are maintaining their NCCP Certification will earn 2 PD points for completing the workshop.

This workshop is Workshop 2 in the Powering Coach Mental Health Literacy trilogy. You have the option of completing 1, 2, or all 3 modules. Although it’s ideal to complete the modules in sequence, you may choose a different order that’s more suitable to your needs and preferences.

You can access Workshop 1: Maximizing Coach Potential through the Power of the Mental Triad and Workshop 2: Powering Coach Wellness and Performance through Self-Care on the Event Hub.

These workshops are available for FREE until March 31, 2024
